About Calligra Suite
Calligra Suite is an integrated suite of applications for office tasks and creative work, developed as a community effort under the KDE umbrella. Born from a fork of KOffice in 2010, it distinguishes itself by being 'the office suite for artists,' integrating productivity tools like word processing and spreadsheets with specialized creative applications like Karbon for vector graphics. As a free and open-source project, Calligra does not operate as a commercial business. It is maintained by a global network of volunteers and supported legally and financially by KDE e.V., a German registered non-profit association based in Berlin. The software is primarily distributed as desktop applications for Linux, Windows, and macOS, ensuring that user data remains under the user's local control rather than being stored in a central cloud.
