About EuroLLM
EuroLLM is a collaborative European project aimed at creating a suite of Large Language Models (LLMs) that are specifically tailored for the European market. Unlike many mainstream models dominated by US-based corporations, EuroLLM emphasizes linguistic diversity, covering all official EU languages plus additional regional languages. The project focuses on 'digital sovereignty,' ensuring that the data used for training and the resulting models comply with strict European standards such as the GDPR and the EU AI Act. It is supported by various academic and research institutions across Europe, leveraging high-performance computing resources like the LUMI supercomputer to foster a transparent and ethically aligned AI ecosystem for European businesses and public sectors.
