About LocalSend
LocalSend is a community-driven, open-source application designed for the secure transfer of files and messages between devices on the same local network. Unlike traditional cloud-based sharing services, LocalSend operates entirely without external servers or internet connectivity, utilizing a peer-to-peer architecture that ensures data never leaves the user's private network environment. The software is built with Flutter and implements its own secure protocol to handle device discovery and encrypted communication. Users can send photos, videos, documents, and large directories across different operating systems including Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS. Because it requires no account and has no tracking mechanisms, it provides a high level of privacy and ease of use for both technical and non-technical users. Support is provided through community channels on GitHub.
