About Microflown Technologies
Founded in 1998 as a spin-off from the University of Twente, Microflown Technologies is a Dutch deep-tech company that commercialized the world's first particle velocity sensor. Unlike traditional microphones that measure sound pressure, Microflown's sensors directly measure the physical movement of air particles using MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) technology. The company provides a full stack of acoustic testing solutions, including the sensors, specialized hardware interfaces, and visualization software. Their 'Scan&Paint' system allows engineers to visually map noise sources in real-time, which is critical for the automotive and aerospace industries during R&D and quality control. All hardware development and manufacturing are conducted in-house at their headquarters in Arnhem, Netherlands, utilizing clean-room environments.
